Lech am Arlberg
Another gorgeous sunny day so we went for a walk, following the path behind the village. Our coats didn't stay on for long and it was warm enough to just be in a t-shirt!
This is a view looking back towards the village with the River Lech flowing along the valley floor. In the middle of the shot is the Church of St Nicholas, thought to have been built in 1390, around the time Lech was founded in the fourteenth century by Walser migrants from the canton of Wallis in Switzerland. My parents were married in this church in the mid 1950s.
This afternoon, my aunt Rosemarie joined us for ride in the cable car up the Rufikopf mountain, which sits at 2362 metres and has some stunning views across the surrounding mountains.
