Happy dog with a raspberry
Imagine you have a cute little child in your arms and he is giggling and smiling. You put your mouth close to his skin and you exhale your air through your lips. Your cheeks filll with air and fluttering sounds tickle the child, that's called a "raspberry."
A layer of hair always stands between you and your dog's skin. You pet the hair, and that's the closest you get to your dog. We are lucky though, because we can get closer than that to Moose.
Moose's hair was shaved off during his procedures and ultrasound, giving us an intimate, skin-to-skin contact with our happy dog. What's better? We can give his raspberries!
Today, I gave Moose his first raspberry. At first, he loved the attention and laid there calmly. As my lips neared, he did nothing. Then, I exhaled, my lips vibrated, and his bare belly was tickled. He jumped. His paw got caught in my delicate diamond necklace and his head lifted off the floor, as if he was going to see a wet monster touching him.
Although he may not have been smiling during his raspberry, it was one more memorable life experience for our special boy.
