Fine Feathered Friend
We did a longish walk today, up onto the moors. We set off in sunshine, and at the top, sheltered by a shooting lodge as a hail shower rolled in then continued in sunshine. The next interlude was snow, then sunshine again, and finally rain. We'd hoped we might see some raptors, but no such luck. Plenty of Grouse and Curlew, also Meadow Pipit, possible Stonechat and Golden Plover, and in the last quarter of the walk at a woodland feeder station, we saw lots of little birds of all kinds. This Chaffinch was looking resplendent in his Spring finery.
