Bowood 2015 #11 (Friday 20th March 2015)
Although I had done the walk up to Bowood Lake only four days earlier, I repeated the walk as a result of an open invitation from a Calne Wildlife group member. As it happened I was the only one to take up the offer and so it was the two of us who set out on the walk. The almost total solar eclipse of the morning, for which the clouds had magically cleared at the appointed time in Calne, had heralded the Spring equinox and the weather had well and truly taken the concept on board.
There were plenty of buzzards and herons and even a few spring hares to be seen, and when we reached the lake we encountered another member with his very well-behaved German shepherd dog, Zen, who had been intended to be a stud but had grown too big for the purpose, and faced a very short future until his current owner stepped in and rescued him.
I attempted to get shots of a heron that was on a pontoon on the other side of the lake, but it flew off before I could get close. We visited the heronry and saw a couple of herons in their nest. All in all, we had a very enjoyable three hours.

Grasscut - September's Night Sky (2015)
"Grasscut, the duo of Andrew Phillips and Marcus O’Dair, return in February with a new single, Curlews/September Night’s Sky – the first single from the band’s forthcoming third album, Everyone Was A Bird, to be released by Lo Recordings in May 2015.
"Alongside Curlews comes September's Night Sky, a story of a spring equinox in the Southern Hemisphere. Scored by fragmented keyboards, guitars and sweeping strings it brings to mind the sense of both majesty and fragility that a starry night can inspire." - Soundcloud
