Wild horses

In the Merfelder Bruch, an area in Westphalia (Germany), one can find the largest population of wild horses in Europe. Since the space available for them has become less during the centuries, not too many herds are possible. So the people from Merfeld catch some of the yearlings amongst the stallions once a year (by hand!) and sell them. That's quite a spectacle, that has been a public event for 105 years now.
I've been there for the first time and was deeply impressed with the beauty of the horses. Could have done with a little less heat and harsh light though. Maybe next year.
