The house by the river.

I think today has been the hottest day so far this year!

This photo was taken as we walked along the River Ouse near York.
(You can just see one of my favourite houses!)
The wild cow parsley had grown up taller than me! It was beautiful walking along the river bank. The water made it feel cooler, although it was very hot.
We heard, and then saw a cuckoo! Only the second one I have ever seen, although heard plenty.

Started off this morning with a drive to the farm where we get the asparagus, Nr. Wistow. Then on to Naburn Locks for a walk along the river, followed by a picnic lunch, sat by the river.
We then called at the nursery in Cawood for some more plants.
Back home, sat out and both had a Magnum to cool down!

Also managed to do two loads of washing!

It is now clouding over, and we could be in for a thunder storm!
Well the Summer was nice while it lasted! Hope there is some more to come!
