The Shepherd

A detail from one of the chainsaw sculptures at Ferry Meadows, taken during my walk in the strong early morning sunshine. I'm always amazed at the skill of the sculptor, and how much character he's managed to give to the weathered face of this old fen shepherd, tending his flock.

Last night's meal was a triumph, particularly the baklava, which were much better than any I've ever tasted. It's probably just as well they're fairly time consuming to make, as I dread to think of the calorific content!
