Danger Ahead!

It's that time of year. Rattler time! Walkers beware!

I was reminded this morning. As I drove down the hill from my house, coming up from the other direction was a fire truck. It didn't have its lights flashing, and the ambulance wasn't following, so I knew there was no emergency.

The only possible explanation was that it was a rattlesnake call. You see, when you spot one on your premises you should call the fire department so that they can humanely capture it and then release it back into the desert.

I've had to do this several times since I've been here. But the first time I had one I didn't know what I was supposed to do, so I didn't do anything. Eventually it slithered away on its own.
