Mono Monday - Strength
I remembered about Mono Monday mid-afternoon and started trying to think of a subject to match the theme. There are lots of statues in London of various men from history being celebrated for their strength - mainly in leading armies. But this one is more of a rarity.
Unveiled in 2005 it is the only national memorial in the UK to the millions of strong women who contributed in World War II, in the services, in factories, being dropped behind enemy lines as spies and in keeping the country going though rations and bombings.
It was daylight when I left the office this evening - fantastic! But by the time I got to Whitehall it was getting dark. I had to up the ISO so this is a bit grainy.
