Royal Victoria Grove -

is a double avenue of limes, elm and sycamores, planted on Tunbridge Wells Common in 1835 to commemorate visits by Princess Victoria.  The elms succumbed to disease in 1972 and were replaced in 1992 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Elizabeth II's coronation.  These younger trees can be seen to the right, not nearly as “majestic” as the 1835 ones.  The trees look a bit out of place because they have been obviously planted but they do draw you to walk between them. They seem to be royalist lot these Tunbridge Wells residents, but then, the full name of the town is Royal Tunbridge Wells.
I was walking across the Common to visit my physiotherapist. My neck is much better since I bought a new pillow from the chiropractor.
