Destin, FL

Several hours in the car and we arrived at Destin in Florida. We chose Destin as it seemed an ideal stopping point on the route to the next destination, so this was just an overnight stay.

Prior to the trip we had booked hotels largely based on the reviews and by sticking to a fairly modest budget. We were very lucky to find a hotel right on the beach, so I was particularly excited about arriving here for that reason alone. After looking online at photos of Destin we realised we had picked a cracking spot to stop.

This photo was taken the afternoon we arrived in Destin with the view from my hotel room veranda. It was overcast with a bit of rain on arrival but that didn't concern me.
