Serendipity

On my marathon travels today from Bristol to Belfast US Consulate to Glasgow to Stornoway, I happened to have a seat on the Glasgow-Belfast leg beside Maolcholm Scott, an Irish Gaelic and Scottish Gaelic speaker from Belfast.  I had met Maolcholm in Stornoway about a year ago.

As we ascended from Belfast City Airport, he pointed out that the island seen in the picture is Copeland Island. Centuries ago it was the granary for the monks of Bangor (who lived about 6 miles away), among whom was Moluag, famous in the Hebrides.
