Not Porty People or Places
It never really ever rains in Doha in late March. Just my luck that it was washed out as I flew in from Jakarta.
The lightning storms had scattered Qatar's Airliners to other fields across the Gulf and the knock on was my flight home was delayed by over four hours. The massive Premier Lounge complex at Doha is not a bad place to have an enforced stay as it really is one of the most comfortable, hospitable and calm I have ever been privileged to use.
As I flew out of Doha, with its hosting of 2022 FIFA World Cup now going ahead, as I fully expected, I was amazed all over again by how this tiny anti-alcoholic Arab State will host such a tournament that normally takes place over a number of cities in the host country. The city, on the skyline of my blip is all that there really is to Doha!
It was wonderful to coast in over East Lothian in the splendid Qatar Dreamliner and land in a gloriously spring drenched Auld Reekie.
