Bike Tree

A huge biking festival, Crankworx, starts in Rotorua on Wednesday and the city is buzzing. It is a huge event with bikers from all over the worldwide competing in the Downhill Mountain Biking competition, and includes many events and also nightime concerts. It has previously been held in Canada and France, but its the first time Rotorua has hosted the event.


To celebrate they have built this huge bike tree in the Village Green which will be the centre of much of the entertainment. I notice there are lights all over it, which I guess it will look spectacular at night.

Noticed lots of bikers around town today, many covered in mud after riding in the Redwood forest.
