Sun, sea and something fried

After a walk along Whitley Bay's sandy beach we decided fish & chips was the order of the hour. As a veggie u am used to this being just chips, but to my surprise there was a cheese savoury on the menu. In my mind this was something like a pasty however that is not what arrived. I can best describe it as mashed potato, with cheese deep fried in batter, with chips. A weight watchers nightmare!
