Axe Attack

Yes it is that time of the year where I have to start chopping up wood to replace the vast amount that our stove consumed last winter. H and the children were out so I did not want to use the chainsaw as there would be no one about to call for an ambulance!  
So I used the axe..Three hours of it today. I have to say I find it immensely satisfying, that Axe is an amazing thing and as long as I get the swing right it will split massive logs.

Of course logs are like most things in life, go at them the right way and they split easily. Sometimes the are harder and you have to really go for it to get what it to split and then sometimes you hit one with a massive knot in it which makes the axe jump nearly taking a leg off. Just like real life ;)

I have another days worth to do I think but I'll need the chainsaw for that.

It seems a new Vicar has been appointed, a lady. I wonder if they will want the Rectory back....
