Egret Visit

What a wonderful day!
I went back out to the egrets this morning. I just couldn't get that little guy out of my mind so went to see if all was well. I was happy to see a parent on the nest!! They were all a bit more active today. Maybe because the weather was nicer?? And, I found out that quite a few of the nests have babies. The ones that I could see were typical siblings playing around and fighting with each other. They really are the goofiest looking baby animal. I have some photos that start here. You will have to click on the photos with the babies to get to see them. I am going to have to get a doubler so I can get in closer to them as they get older. There was what I believe is a great blue heron on a nest. I hadn't seen her before. And, a near collision of egrets that was quite entertaining to watch as the one that was resting was quite perturbed with the one coming in too close. I got photos of that too. The weather is suppose to start getting nicer and stay sunny all through the week. I plan on getting back out there as much as I can to watch the progress of the little ones!

After I got back, Glenn and I went out to visit my sister and her husband. They had come down from Portland to camp and ride 4-wheelers on the dunes not far from here. I hadn't seen her in a while. It was nice to sit around the fire visiting and catching up! We stayed into the evening getting back home kind of late. We smell like campfire and fresh air! :)
