There's Gold in those Hills!

These stunning peaks on the left, are called the Pinnacles. They are a Mountain range separating Thames from the East Coast of the Coromandel Peninsula and are part of the Kauranga Ranges.
 I took this photo on the Tairua side on my way back to the farm, however you can also view the Pinnacles from the Thames side or If you tramp up the amazing track to the Pinnacles Hut you will have a 360 degree view of the Coromandel Peninsula. It is on my "TO Do list. The track was once a n old pack horse track when gold mining was the main attraction to the area but is now an excellent DOC track with a fantastic 80 bunk hut at the top.
