Shadow play

The strong late afternoon sun was very welcome today and had the bonus of highlighting the tulips against the house.

Salt Spring Island had a water tour today. Several properties were open for viewing by the public. Each had some form of water capture system. We didn't get around to many of them but it was certainly interesting. The first place we saw had been designed from the ground up and provided water for drinking, household needs and garden irrigation. The enthusiastic home owner was an engineer!

We are still considering what is best to do with our property, but since we've not been here a year yet, we have time to work out what we want. Many of the systems we saw had evolved over several years.
