Landing room
Just; rather than only.
Today S and I went out to Cape Kidnappers, a little south from Napier on the edge of the Pacific Ocean. There has been a gannet colony there for more than 150 years. We went as part of a group; the Class Reunion conference pauses in the afternoon so that we can do things like this.
The trip out challenged my equanimity as the driver was often turning to look at the passenger in the front seat and talking and the road seemed barely wide enough for the bus, with steep drops on both sides. That I am posting this is proof that we returned safely.
I took a large number of photos, mixing the lenses. This was taken with the 100-300 mm lens, and is one of the sharpest shots, and shows the crowded conditions in which these birds were landing.
This morning was the sunrise of the autumn equinox. I took a nice photo on my run, but chose this as I will not be likely to see these birds like this again in a hurry.
