Nagarhole National Park

We have left beautiful and noisy Mysore and travelled 130k towards the Western Ghatts to Nagarhole where we are staying in a fantastic lodge by a lake. Last evening we went out into the forest on safari. We saw quite a few animals - spotted deer, gaur, a metre tall wild boar, monkeys, a jackal chasing some deer, elephants and then we had a call to say there was a tiger in the area. Our Jeep was turned about and we flew from bump to bump to a watering hole where across the water was a tigress with two cubs. It was quite a distance away so no photo but what a thing to see!
As we journeyed up we saw quite a lot of what l thought were tree huts, these turned out to be watch huts for tigers, leopards and elephants, all the villages around here have stick fences to keep out animals.
