REVIEW:  Kingsman: The Secret Service
Picture of poster by Twentieth Century Fox

This film pays homage to classic spy TV & movies.
Think-”Man from Uncle”, “Avengers”, “Get Smart”,”007”
There’s lots of laughs, but if you’re squeamish, some of the violent action scenes may cause you to duck for cover.

Colin Firth, the oh-so-well-dressed action hero, kicks butt as Harry Hart. A member of Kingsmen, an independent top secret spy organization. The plot centers around his recruitment of handsome Eggsy (Taron Egerton) whose late father saved Harry’s life while working for Kingsmen.

They’re up against villain, Richmond Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson), who wants to cull the excess from our over-populated world. His diabolical plan, free Sim cards for all. The downside, they stimulate aggression and cause people to tear each other apart. But Valentine can’t watch when violence is unleashed, the sight of blood makes him vomit.

Michael Caine plays the head honcho of Kingsmen. I love that guy, but have you noticed he’s looked the same for like the last 20 years.

There are some awesome gadgets
A Fancy-Schmancy Charcoal double-breasted chalk-striped suit.
Bullet proof, of course

A tricked-out umbrella
Transforms into a see-through bulletproof shield with a stun gun attachment.

Shiny dress shoes.
That hide a hidden blade coated with a deadly neurotoxin.

It's a fun and fast 2 hours. With believable characters and acting. Downside, the addition of violence that might not be in line with fans of those old spy movies.
