A dialogue:
Me: I want to buy a soup ladle
Himself: Mmm, whatever
Me: We don't need a soup ladle, but I want to buy this one
Himself: Buy it then.
Me: It costs  a bit more than a soup ladle really should. And we don't need one.
Himself: you probably shouldn't buy it then.
Me: But what if it looked like Nessie?
Himself: Eh?  [Looks at item]
Himself: BUY IT. NOW.
