A Strange Creation

This odd fabrication is in Rishworth Hall Wood, at Ryburn Reservoir, Ripponden.  It's been built on the floor of a small quarry just by the reservoir.
I always find it strangely sinister.
Apologies that the blip doesn't give a sense of scale - the 'uprights' are about 2½ ft tall and the centre block is about 'sitting' height.  

I did blip the eclipse this morning, but I have to say I was somewhat underwhelmed - it didn't come particularly dark and the birds in Midgehole just kept on singing throughout.
