Posts in the sand
A gloriously sunny day.
Early morning we tried to see the eclipse. The sun was as bright as I have ever seen in at this time of year and despite using colanders, pinholes in paper etc we could not see the crescent shape as the moon passed over. The remaining sun was just so bright and we didn't have any special lenses or glasses. It hardly darkened at all. We did, however, see the actual moment it became a total eclipse, courtesy of TV pictures from an aircraft above the Faeroe Islands. It certainly was a magical moment.
We had a wonderful Mexican lunch in town with my sister and her husband before I had to do rather complicated emergency Children's Hearing.
Afterwards we went for a walk along the beach at Broughty Ferry. I was rather taken by the these posts in the sand with the very disparate heights of the posts. The sun was still scorchingly bright as evidenced by the shadows.
