Flopped
I got home to find Beck's Mothers Day tulips looking a little enervated. They'd drunk all their water. Luckily a bit of timely re-hydration seems to be perking them up so hopefully I caught them in time for a complete resuscitation. This morning's eclipse was a little underwhelming. I got quite excited first thing when the clouds started to clear. I thought we'd be plunged into darkness but all that happened was that the shadows lengthened and the light took on a curiously dull, metallic tinge. And, despite all the shoebox camera obscura instructions on the internet, it turned out you could follow the progress of the moon quite well with just a postcard with a hole in and a sheet of plain paper...
