Civil protest

JB has a new walking collar, the Gentle Leader.

He hates it. My shoulder is finally getting a break.

The problem is that he loves lunging at people and if he catches me unaware my arm gets ripped out of it's socket. A couple of months ago I had real pain in my arm for about 10 days, so I know it's not doing my shoulder any good.

The Gentle Leader isn't a muzzle, it just goes round his muzzle, but clips to his lead under his jaw. If he pulls the lead now, his head merely turns around, rather than the usual collar round his neck failing miserably to do anything and I get dragged along. With this, he can neither tug, nor lunge at anyone.

However, I am getting a daily protest from him.

Before he lay down on the road and refused to get up, I was literally dragging him along the leaves with him on his back and all four legs in the air. He didn't seem to care, but he decided that this position made it far more difficult for me to walk him. So he stayed like that for nearly a minute before giving in.

At the end of the walk, he has perfected a totally defeated look. Kills me.

But my shoulder is better than ever.
