Electric Experience

I am sure that electric cars have made huge strides since the time that I last drove one.
Plug in chargers like this at my local supermarket, and increasingly evident in public places is an indication of just how much.
I cannot remember the year that I drove one in a sort of pioneering event, intended to be around the streets of Portsmouth.  Well we did get almost half a mile from the garage where I had picked up the car when it came to a complete standstill through lack of power.
Now, I am prepared to believe that there has been something of a surge in interest, and that electric powered cars are now being taken seriously, and that the electric vehicle is now a viable option.  Hence the number of charging points like this I have come across in the past few months.
Not that I have yet seen a car plugged into either this charging point, or the one adjacent to it.  But I am willing to  believe that somebody does at some time.  Just not at any of the times I have been visiting the supermarket.
The technology is now very different from what it was at the time of my experience all those years ago.

Not sure now that I will ever get the chance to drive one, but I look forward to hearing of the experiences of those that have.
