Reach for the sky ...

Today I shared Salisbury Plain with some soldiers in tanks. We were driving the latest Subaru Outback, and to showcase its rugged capability, Subaru arranged for us to go off-roading where tank drivers do their training.

We stayed clear of the very deep ruts, because the Outback doesn't have enough ground clearance to deal with the very rough stuff, but it was a convincing exploration of its 4x4 versatility.

We also had a demonstration of the car's collision avoidance technology - called EyeSight - at Thruxton race circuit, where this wonderful little piece of sculpture at the entrance grabbed my eye.
