Herdwick

As a proud owner of Ian Lawson,s beautiful book on Harris Tweed, hubby my blipmate and I drove all the way to Penrith to see his exhibition of Herdwick sheep and shepheards. It was amazing. The photos were big and beautiful and we were all as happy as pigs in mud or should that be sheep in the heather.
I now know what I would like for our thirtieth wedding anniversary this October...his fantastic Herdwick book. The icing on the cake was a chance quick meeting with the maestro himself.

We were going to meet a fellow blipper but he couldn't escape from the eventide home! His memory isn't what it used to be.
However we did a wee tour round part of the area courtesy of one of the experts who for years produced a brilliant guide book of the Lakes. His directions were spot on and we had great fun.
A quick stopover in Glasgow to collect the doggies and we should be home in Argyll before midnight.
A totally brilliant day although. Good fun, good company.
Photo is of an old shepherd ruminating on the beautiful photos he's just seen.
