The litter problem

There are few issues that induce in me a 'grumpy old man moment' more than the massive problem of litter in public places.

I saw this over-full bin at the edge of the dunes today and was struck by the utter stupidity of the people who then leave their own litter at the base of the bin for the wind to re-distribute.

No sooner had I clicked the shutter than a woman walked up to the bin, mentally reviewed the situation and gently placed her own cardboard cup at the base before walking on. Perhaps I should have done and Alice Arnold and chased after her with it.
