80-year-old

My dad is 80 which seems so very old sometimes, and other times not so old. Driving is getting difficult for him and he was in an accident the other day. He has a tendency to drift from his lane. Still, driving is so important to him as he likes to get out in the outdoors and also plays in several bands. 

This past week, mom and dad flew up to Seattle to see the Great Grandchildren. My dad hates flying and prefers to drive up here. Last year, he drove from Los Angeles to Seattle in three days. This time, however, he acquiesced and flew. My sister lives in another part of Washington state so we drove across the pass and met halfway so that the parents could visit her for a while. This picture was taken after we just shared breakfast.

Dad has changed. There used to be more of twinkle in his eye in photos. Seeing him look more somber makes me kind of sad. He had a good visit and I pray there will be another one.
