Study in brown

Went for a walk round the lake at lunchtime. Nice to be out and about even if I didn't have much chance to dawdle and bird watch this time. 

This female mallard stayed tucked up as I went past but still made sure she kept an eye on me. 

I love the different shades of brown and textures in her feathers.
