Cramond Island
Well we were planning to got on the May Princess to the Isle Of May but got a text yesterday evening saying the boat was full......bugger!
So we decided to go to Cramond Island
I must say it is one of the most amazing sights I have seen, Cramond Island sits in the Forth of Firth about 3 miles East of the Forth Rail/Road Bridges and is a tidal island that was used during WWII as a defence position. It can be accessed during low tide via a causeway that is 1 mile long. It has these strange pyramid structures to protect the causeya from boats.
Glorious sunny day with a Harr (spring fog) coming in and out. We had lunch, spotted lots of flora and fauna including a stranded sea trout in a water pool along the causeway.
A lovely day which was finished with sunning ourselves in the garden with a glass of cider.............perfick!!
