the first camera I bought for £10- 5 shillings,
I put ten bob a week from 12/6d newspaper round to the dealer until I had paid for it.
mum bought a case for my christmas present and Ray the photo dealer gave and processed the first film for me. They had a darkroom and taught me processing and that was it, on the path.
they also flew  - from Manchester Barton club - aviation being my other thing coming from RAF family. the camera suffered in an icy fall at M/cr Ringway where I gone to photograph aircraft. A Fairy Gannet I recall.
