Gas Guns are Booming

All around the grape growing areas of Marlborough the gas guns are booming. Each gun is set to fire at specific intervals in a burst of three very loud bangs. Our dog Fergus is not unduly upset by the noise. He would make an excellent gun dog.
Here a gas gun is directed out over one of the Meadowbank Station vineyards. The gas guns are used to scare birds away from the ripening grape crops.
