Footpaths
Had a great weekend visiting friends in Bath. Our walk today around Wellow took in tree tunnels in thousands of shades of dappled green, fields of barley waving in the sun, buttercups that were beyond yellow, may blossom that couldn't decide whether to be cream or pink, huge horse chestnut flowers, loads of blue flowers I couldn't identify, Queen Anne's lace, delicate wild garlic, clear streams of running water, picturesque ivy-laden bridges, quaint cottages with wisteria round the doors, a church nestling in the valley. It felt like I'd gone on holiday to a postcard collection.
So why do you get barbed wire?
1. Colour - unenhanced.
2. Symbolism - too many paths are unmarked, blocked off, sown over, crossed by electric fences.
PS - I'm plagiarising.
