Piles of dirt

Now the cricket season is over the middle part of this oval is in the process of being covered over with dirt. This is for two reasons , firstly to protect the Aussie rules football players who will use the same ground to play football and could hurt themselves if they fell on the cricket pitch. It's also to protect the cricket pitch for next season and not to be torn up by footy boots. Dakota managed to slip on the plastic between the piles this morning and hence he's now giving it a wide berth
