Fleurs pour moi.

I don't know what the French is all about - I just felt like it. Anyway, these flowers arrived today, sent from my work colleagues. There is an unwritten rule that if you are off for more than a fortnight then you get flowers sent to you. The folks in the department must be broke with having to contribute towards all of us current absentees! I think there are three of us who are now into our post-two week period. I like how our department adhere to this flower sending like it's some ancient and long-established tradition, which I suppose it is. It's sweet and very welcome to receive them. This is the second time I've had them - the first/last time being in 2009.

After opening the box containing these I had to go down to the health centre where the locum asked what I did for a living and when I told her she promptly signed me off for another fortnight, rather than a single week. She said I wasn't to be darting around a classroom as that would do me no good at all. I wish I could go back to work but realistically I know that I have to listen to the experts about this and take this time off. Hopefully I will get back to normality by the end of this stretch and in the meantime I can look at my flowers from the various prone positions that I take up when at home - cos I've now caught up with everything on the SKY planner!
