London 2012 Day 14

A couple of silvers in the Sailing today for Great Britain. Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark miss gold after losing out in their final 470 race with New Zealand in Weymouth and today's TV shot is of Luke Patience and Stuart Bithell who were pipped in the men's 470 race by Australia, celebrating their silver.

In Hockey Britain's women did well to come back from their disappointment of a 2-1 semi-final defeat to Argentina by securing bronze with a 3-1 win over New Zealand. In the final Netherlands defeated Argentina 2-0.

In Taekwondo you've got to feel sorry for Lutalo Muhammad getting caught up in what appears to be a political spat between the British Taekwondo Federation and the current -80kg European Champion and World Number 1 in the −80kg men's category Aaron Cook. Anyway Lutalo Muhammad was selected over Aaron Cooke and that didn't look good when Lutalo lost his quarter-final to Nicolas Garcia Hemme an athlete Aaron had recently defeated. However as Nicolas Garcia Hemme then went on to make the final this meant that Lutalo earned a shot at redemption with the lifeline of the repechage. Here he beat Yousef Karami, the world champion in the 87kg class in which Muhammad is European title holder, then beating Armenia's Yeremyan he secured himself the bronze medal - well done sir.

In Boxing Anthony Ogogo took the middleweight bronze medal after losing his semi-final to Esquiva Falcao of Brazil.

In the athletics stadium the USA win the gold medal in the women's 4x100m and remove the final drug-tainted East German world record off the books, with a time of 40.82 replacing the 1985 mark. Great Britain's men's 4x100 medal hopes though are in tatters yet again as they were disqualified after an illegal baton change.
