Size eights

Which my only-just size seven feet were not awfully comfortable in. I wonder how much use steel toecaps are if the toes are not underneath the steel, but happily I didn't get to find out. Apparently some smaller ones are on order.

Spent the morning unpacking four large crates containing some instrumentation for a lab - the supplier had helpfully built the crates around the instruments and then filled the space with polystyrene chips, which emptied themselves all over the delivery bay. It's a good job it wasn't windy, although I expect people will be finding the little green pellets lodged in strange places for weeks to come. This afternoon I got to use a new (to me) bit of kit in the lab, which I had heard of but not seem before, so that was good. Two days in and I am getting a feel for the politics already.

I rarely spend as much time as I would like browsing blip, but even I have become aware of the difficult situation in which we are in. I am fast approaching my second anniversary so that may be a good time to bow out.
