Surprise!

A highlight of the year so far! Elsa was desperate for an iPhone 5c for her birthday. We agreed provided she pays towards it and then promptly discovered they've been discontinued in all but the smallest size, so leading to a nationwide hunt for a brand new blue 5C. Ee gads.

Thing is I like a challenge so as the opportunities receded so my determination to succeed grew. Eventually we tracked one down, then had to work out elaborate ways of trying to minimise the chances of being swindled - I hate that we have to be suspicious, but it's the way it is. Eventually we sealed the deal and AlfeeTee collected the phone and handed over the readies on a West London street corner.

To add to the drama (Elsa loves a drama) we hollowed out a book from a charity shop, placed the phone inside and then gave it to Elsa along with another book.

She could barely speak.

We now have the World's happiest teenager.
