The Last Resort?

I know that Barry Island has had a deal of bad press, but on my first visit I was pleasantly surprised at the work that has been put into the promenade. Not the best weather but many shops were open and the cafes were doing a good trade. The Pleasure Park is all but demolished. However a shopkeeper told me of new investment and a new fair so the general impression is optimistic.
