The Sinking of The Good Ship Blip?

Rumors abound concerning the fate of our beloved Blipfoto.
I have a deep interest in the history of Europe between the wars.  Yesterday, while reading through AJP Taylor's history of WW1, I encountered this illustration:  it depicts both sides of a medal struck by the Germans, immensely proud of themselves, to commemorate the sinking of the Lusitania in 1915 by a U-Boat, the ostensible causus belli for America's entrance into the war.  The right hand illustration shows passengers lining up at the Cunard office to buy their tickets from Death.  Is this what we are doing, (in a figurative sense, of course), by publishing our Blips every day and continuing to "Be Excellent"?
