The Join

If rightly done, the join makes a corner beautiful; two phases in different directions are united.

The children were excited beyond sense tonight. The boy, especially. I finally blurted out to the 9 yo, 'What's with you tonight? Have you got a new girlfriend or something?!' I didn't actually expect to be right! Thus ensued a debate about the wisdom of mixed race relations, and whether a person from another race but raised in your country is likely to be a better or worse partner than someone of your own ethnicity raised overseas. Three people, three different views. And amplified excitement. No wonder the bub couldn't sleep!
