Self Portrait.

This is the beginning of a painted self portrait by Patrick.  Two weeks ago he was drawing a very small pencil sketch of his face and the features were not in proportion.  With the help of some ruled guidelines so he knew where to position the features he now has a chance of making a picture he will be proud of.  It is rewarding when I can see this kind of progress.   The most exciting part of todays lesson was learning to paint eyes.  I know they are not perfect but they are realistic.  Next week we will continue by painting the hair and clothing at the neck line.
