Such a good day!
Luckily we got breakfast for free in the travelodge so we ate until we were stuffed and took some more for the road! Our first stop was a place called Ocean Shores, and the drive through the rest of Aberdeen confirmed it was not the loveliest place I've been (but apparently where Kurt Cobain was raised). Ocean Shores was also a little bizarre too, very much a summer location, however the weather was getting nicer and we realised we could drive on the beach! There were more cars than people on it, so I jumped in the drivers seat (automatic = go kart) which was very fun and then Maya who had never driven before drove (only in a straight line but still!). We found a cute coffee place so topped up with some caffeine, topped the car up with some gas and then set off up the coast! Our second stop was Lake Quinault, we saw the biggest spruce tree in _____ and it was huge! Then we climbed up a waterfall and got a bit damp and we drove up the valley trying to find another one but failed! It turned out to be such a nice day and the drive back to the coast and alongside the beaches was beautiful. Ruby Beach was great and had some dramatic cliffs and stacks. We drove through Forks and out to Rialto Beach (and saw lots of hilarious twilight references!) which is where this picture was taken. This area of coast gets a lot of big waves from the Pacific and the beach was littered with huuuuge trees and again lots of stacks. When we all began to feel cold, we drove round to La Push and had the most incredible seafood for dinner! Tonight we stayed in Forks Motel which was standard, comfy and watched a awful film on TV
