New Age curling

The University of the Third Age (U3A) movement is a unique and exciting organisation which provides, through its U3As, life-enhancing and life-changing opportunities. Retired and semi-retired people come together and learn together, not for qualifications but for its own reward: the sheer joy of discovery!
This group of 48 students live near to Bristol in SW England where there is only one curling rink.  They are part of a group who play Indoor Kurling and were so inspired by the 2014 winter Olympic curling team that they decided they would like to try the "real thing" for themselves and contacted my husband, Curling Development officer for Lanarkshire, who arranged a few days coaching for them locally at East Kilbride.
