Happy Pi Day

Many people celebrate 14th March each year with pie because the date written in the American style with the month first is 3.14 which is pi to two decimal places. Last night, however was a special one off because at 9:26 and 53 seconds the date and time read 3.14.15 9:26:53. The mathematicians amongst you may recognise the pattern because pi written to nine decimal places is 3.141592653.

One of Jenny's colleagues held a bring a pie and drink event in his flat complete with a toast at the crucial second. The highlight for me was a cottage pie made with curry powder!
