Robber Fly

Rixton Clay pits to look for these chaps. We managed an excellent hawl of Dragon flies and lava, great crested newt and a dancing buzard, who nearly made the blip.
These flies are quite large (one and a quarter inches). They catch other insects on the wing, but don't eat humans.
